Unatoto is a franchise restaurant with 140 locations across Japan and overseas. The eels they serve are quality-controlled at their own factory in China.
The eel is grilled by Mr. Otsuka, who used to be a chef at an eel restaurant in Ueno, Tokyo. The eel is grilled over charcoal after an order is placed.
In addition to the unadon, the menu also includes a combination of unadon and beef tendon curry, hitsumabushi, and more. Starting in July, a new dish will be available: the "unadon spam bowl," with spam, egg, and eel on top of rice. It's an unprecedented collaboration between Okinawa's soul food, spam, and eel.
There are also raised seats inside the restaurant, so even families with children can relax. The 24th of this month is Doyo no Ushi Day. Why not come and try the eel?
