石垣市初の児童館専用施設、新川に開館
新川団地西側の敷地に、石垣市で初めての児童館専用施設となる「新川児童館」が完成。１月６日、開館を前にオープニングセレモニーが行われた。新川児童館は市が地域居住機能再生推進事業補助金を活用し、計６億7961万円をかけて建設されたもの。施設には体育館、多目的室（３室）、創作活動室、キッチン、トイレ、シャワー室などが完備されている。
