山原地区で一斉草刈りを実施　自治会員が協力し環境保全

山原自治会（会長：浅見市朗、常在人口57人）は2025年6月17日（火）、山原集落内の主要道路において一斉草刈りを実施した。地域の自然と景観を守るための恒例行事で11名の自治会員が参加した。草刈り作業は午前9時から始まり、約2時間半をかけて予定区域を丁寧に整備。平日にもかかわらず多くの住民が作業に協力し、集落内の環境美化に貢献した。

第88回職域バスケットボール大会、6月15日開催

地域職場対抗のバスケットボール大会「第88回職域バスケットボール大会（第18回株式会社双葉建機杯）」が、令和7年6月15日（日）に八重山農林高校体育館で開催される。今回は石垣市役所、JTA、JP労組、沖縄銀行、JGSDF（自衛隊）、居酒屋「浦島太郎」などが参加し、全8チームが熱戦を繰り広げる。

Calling for donations to build Koshijobushi song monument

The committee for the construction of a monument to the song "Echijo-bushi," an ancient folk song that originated in Shinjo (Kamiji Island), was formed and fundraising activities have begun. The association is moving forward with plans to erect a monument to the song on Shinjo Kamiji Island, and is calling for donations from local friends and people in the entertainment industry with a goal of raising 5.05 million yen in total.

Ishigaki City's first dedicated children's center opens in Shinkawa

The first dedicated children's center in Ishigaki City, the Shinkawa Children's Center, has been completed on the west side of the Shinkawa housing complex. An opening ceremony was held on January 6th prior to the opening. The Shinkawa Children's Center was built by the city using a subsidy for the promotion of the revitalization of local residential functions, at a total cost of 679.61 million yen. The facility is fully equipped with a gymnasium, three multipurpose rooms, a creative activity room, a kitchen, toilets, shower rooms, and more.
