On October 26th and 27th, a silkscreen print exhibition entitled "Ten Years, Three Years" was held at the Ichigusukugarou Art Gallery in Okawa, Ishigaki City to commemorate Ichigusuku Mode's 13th anniversary.
The title of the exhibition is inspired by the Yaeyama folk song "Tsuki-numi-sha" ("Tenth and Third Days"). At the venue, works with the theme of the moon were exhibited and sold, and a pop-up was also held featuring home-roasted coffee from "COFFEE SENTI," a coffee roaster based in Motobu Town in the northern part of Okinawa's main island, and sweets from "pool," which is scheduled to open a store in Shin-Ei Town by the end of the year, and the 13th anniversary was celebrated with the many people who came to visit.
In addition, on both days, a "Hagirasenai" workshop was held using scraps from Ichigusuku Mode's works. Participants, from children to adults, were engrossed in making "Jusanya Tumblers" and "Jusanya Tote Bags," each putting their ingenuity into their creations. Many people enjoyed the commemorative event, with various singers' "Tsuki Numi Sha" playing in the background music at the venue.
Ikeshiro Yasutake, representative of Ichigusuku Mode, commented, "The past 13 years have flown by. Obama Madoka of Ito Tosser joined us eight years ago, and Yoshida Mayu of Hagira Senaiser three years ago. I started this job because I like being alone, but I feel incredibly lucky to have met two such earnest, funny, kind, cheerful, and talented people. We will continue to work hard so that we can hold a delicious 'Juicy Exhibition' for our 14th anniversary next year."
