Our fishing partner this time is Kenta Oyama (43). Oyama started fishing when he was in junior high school, accompanied by his father, and in recent years has been enjoying lure fishing on the reef.
On this day, I took my kids for a drive looking for Mijun. At around 2pm, when the tide was just starting to rise, we found a good spot and started sabiki fishing with the kids.
While fishing with the sabiki, I attached a fillet of squid to the rod for taman and cast it far away, hoping to catch something big (taman or GT). Around 4pm, while I was enjoying sabiki fishing with my kids, the rod for big fish bowed high. I was surprised by the unexpected hit, but I remained calm and fought the fish. After winning the fight with the powerful fish, a big makubu appeared on the surface.
The children were very excited to see the big Makubu. Even more so, Oyama himself was very excited to have caught a Makubu for the first time. When the fish was weighed, it was 58cm and 3.76kg. At the children's request, we decided to eat it as sashimi. It was very delicious and everyone was very satisfied.
This day was surely a wonderful memory for both the children and Mr. Oyama.
November Fishing Information
In November, you can usually enjoy fishing for Umzuner (long-armed clown octopus) with Izari, Bigfin reef squid with egging, and Amberjack with jigging on a pleasure boat.
Due to the amendment of the Recreational Fishing Boat Business Act that came into effect on April 1, 2024, fishing boats and ferries can no longer guide passengers to off-limit areas (offshore breakwaters without the administrator's permission). In addition, due to the enforcement of the Port Security Act, entry to many areas in ports will be prohibited from July 1, 2024.
In the future, poor fishing rules and etiquette may lead to fishing being banned, so please be careful not to litter, illegally dump items, or fall into the water.
